I bought this small scanner to be able to travel with me to many locations throughout the day. I like the portability of it but I was disappointed when I could not find any tech support when my documents were only scanning blank pages. After some frustration, I tried to calibrate the scanner and that seemed to work, but I was a bit confused why I had to calibrate an item right out of the box. The other issue I'm having is I don't know how to scan several pages into 1 pdf or email? I usually have at least 1-5 pages to scan back to the office and its time consuming and non productive to send 5 different emails to get the job done. Since there is no tech support, I'm assuming I won't get the answer? It would have been helpful if it came with a booklet to walk you thru several issues. If anyone knows the answer to my question please share it with me

I just received this for Mac. Software would not load. I checked the website for drivers, but you need to be a registered user to get them. To be a registered user, you need to be able to load the software and get a confirmation code. Wow, this is really cumbersome. I called the help desk on the quick start guide (1866-NEAT-REC) and pressed "4" for the tech line. There was a canned message to go online and submit a question for help. I submit the tech question online and it said I will get a response from a rep soon. The preferred way to communicate is to e-mail. Already, with this experience I am taking this back. Not worth the hassle. My time is valuable and this gadget has wasted over an hour of it. Dear Neatco, I am sure you will read this comment at some point in time. You may want to consider free downloads of the software and supply a product key with the packaging. In addition, e-mail tech support is really not acceptable. If you want to sell to Mac users, then make your software work and available.

 "Virtually impossible to scan letter size docs" 2010-04-23

I bought this to get myself organized. The software is great (once you figure out how to use it, which isn't easy). The scanner works well with heavy paper such as business cards and some checks, but is virtually impossible to use with thinner paper, especially letter size sheets. I have yet to get a single piece of paper to feed straight. No matter how meticulously I align the paper, the scanner will twist it and turn it so by the time it is half way through it is at a 30 degree angle. It comes out twisted and the resulting scan is distorted. It installs easily, but is impossible to use. About every third or fourth scan, it will no longer feed or if it does, the software will say that the scan cannot be completed even though the entire document has been fed through the scanner. The only solution I have found is to quit NeatWorks, unplug the scanner, plug it back in, and then restart NeatWorks. Then after three or four scans, repeat this process.



Obviously the hardware has lots of bugs that the company needs to fix. The concept is great, and I had high hopes for it, but clearly it is going to require way too much work to scan most documents. Instead of being a time saver, it has become a time waster.

I love being able to go paperless and this is a great way to do it. So far it is easy to use and great for our office. My only complaint is that the scanning quality isn't the best but for what we need it to do it is great.

 "Very Poor Mac Support" 2010-04-07

I purchased this scanner about three months ago. With the exception of slow performance, I initially did not have any issues. About two weeks ago I installed a software "upgrade" to NeatWorks and now my scanner does not work. Since then I have been playing email tag with their tech support staff. They send a "solution" -- I try it -- It doesn't work -- I email tech support -- repeat the next evening. I re-installed the original version of the software, and was surprised to find that my receipt database had been converted to a new format and did not work with the old version. Don't waste your time on this product.
